Myriam Vargas
Myriam joined CSF in 2022 as an Economist. For more than 10 years, she has carried out economic valuation studies for different contexts such as environmental accounting, cost-benefit analysis, providing information for expanding marine protected areas, assigning fiscal responsibilities due to environmental damage related to deforestation, and evaluating technological changes for artisanal and small-scale gold mining. She also has conducted economic modeling to estimate sustainable yield measures of natural resources, evaluate mechanisms for managing marine fisheries, and analyze the livelihoods of coastal households. Myriam is an Economics PhD student at Universidad de los Andes. She holds a Masters in Economics and a Masters in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics, also from Universidad de los Andes, as well as a Bachelors in Economics from Universidad Católica de Colombia. She enjoys trekking, jogging, and taking her dog for a walk every day.
